Senior Pet Care

As your pet ages, it may require more attention. Because each year for a dog or cat is equivalent to five to seven human years, it is critical that your pet receives a wellness examination at least once a year. They are considered a senior member of the community by the age of seven, and more frequent exams are advised. Because of the accelerated aging of pets, which results in a shorter life span for animals compared to humans, a pet’s health can change dramatically in a very short period of time.

The aging process is the same for both animals and humans. Associated changes in behavior, anatomy, and physiology occur naturally. Your Petcare Veterinary Services team will monitor your senior pet’s orthopedic condition, cardiovascular system, and ophthalmic condition.

Our veterinarians will go over your aging pet’s normal developmental processes as well as any diagnosed deviations from what is considered normal. They may also advise the older adult on appropriate blood tests and the use of products that may be beneficial.
